As a writer, I’ve learned a title determines your future. As a reader, my eyes are constantly admiring the tasty title gallery. But as an editor, I know that crafting the perfect title is all about following the perfect recipe.

The OREO recipe.

An OREO title makes your mouth water for more. An OREO title makes you want to get to the good stuff inside. An OREO title makes you want to finish the jar. But more importantly, an OREO title makes you schedule a Prime delivery to fill up the damn jar.

O — Original

Using a cliché in your title is like dunking an OREO in milk for too long. It’s a sin. Your title will crumble.

And believe you me — nobody likes crumbles in their milk. Not your article. Not your reader. And most definitely not your earnings tab.

But unlike most ‘experts’ who talk, I’m about to dunk my beloved OREO for too long that you can taste the difference yourself.

Before writing this article, I knew I had something valuable to share, but I didn’t know it would be an OREO.
